Mission :
The EULC mission is managing the Egyptian university library consortium and providing sustainability plans for this new project through achieving the following
goals:
- Managing and administrating the EUL consortium.
- Coordinating and selecting the e-resource.
- Managing the negotiations process with the e-resource publisher or aggregators.
- Planning, managing and providing technical support for the EUL automation projects.
- Providing technical support and administrating the process of building the EUL union catalog.
- Administrating the process of building a national database of theses and dissertations.
- Standardizing the automated library system according to a comprehensive list of specifications for the integrated library system.
- Planning and hosting training programs for the EUL librarians, the university scholars, and students.
- Participating and presenting the consortium in the national and international conferences.
- Preparing a unified pricing policy and a business model for the consortium participants.

The Egyptian University Libraries Consortium (EULC) aims to achieve the following objective:
- Selecting the appropriate e-resources for the Egyptian scientific community in the universities.
- Developing a unified list of the required e-resources.
- Negotiating with the e-resources agents to attain the maximum benefits and added values from these resources.
- Managing and updating the subscription with the consortium participants.
- Following the subscriptions and trying to attract new participants to the consortium.
- The unit is responsible of hosting the library automated system and providing access to the digital library resources for the EUL members.
- Managing, coordinating, and supervising the automation project in the EUL.
- Unifying and standardizing the tools of automation such as classification schemes and subject headings.
- Providing training programs for the EUL staff and users (Scholars and Students).
- Hosting and organizing specialized conferences and workshop in the area of library and information sciences.
- Participating and representing the EUL in the national and international occasion related to libraries and information science.
- Preparing continuing reports and statistics for the usage of the digital libraries and the automation process.
- Developing a business model for the EULC in order to be self sustainable to guarantee the continuing of the consortium.
